Boy have we fallen behind. But the webgallery is being updated regularly. Right now we have the Christmas pictures on it along with the summer trip to France. We will try to be more current here.
Our visitors since January 1 have been John and Joan Waller, Alan and Joan Marsh, and Laura Lee Grace. Also John and Shellie were here for 3 days. Coming this weekend are Toni and George. Then the Tinsmans and the Clawsons. We are very busy when the weather turns cold up north.

The day after the Big Event. Yes. The Apple Iphone was released at 6pm last night. Barry and I stood in line at the Bee Ridge AT&T store for 2 hours and 1/2 to buy one of the iphones. I started immediately to learn how to use it. By noon today I was pretty much able to take pictures with the camera feature, type SMS text messages and send to any cell phone, create new email and send it, receive regular email thru phil@philstarr.com, listen to music ( I only put on a few albums from my ipod since the storage in a 4G iphone is much less than the storage on my ipod, look up the weather for KC or Longboat or Paris, look up my favorite stocks and get a graph showing prices for 1, 2, 3month or 12 months, and, oh, yes, Make and receive cell phone calls. Emma was the first person to call me. She got my iphone number from Alie. I sent it to Alie, Jim, Shellie and John.
The iphone will make international calls. So from France we can call out in emergencies and also receive calls. But the barge also has a phone and I will be providing that phone number to family members who are not on the trip.

I see I'm falling way behind in posting to the journal. The remodeling project has moved along. The lower cabinets are installed. The ceiling is almost finished. On Monday, the upper cabinets go in. Sometime next week the granite countertops will be installed. Exciting times for us.

Much has happened toward our remodeling project. We have posted pictures under "remodel" to show the progress. Click on the work "remodel". Two new hot water heaters are installed--one in the master bedroom closet instead of under the sink; the other in the storage room. The thermostat was moved to the dining room to allow the front wall to have a picture or other wall decoration.

We skipped Farmers' Market. Barry had a hair appointment at 9 and I overslept. Joan and John arrive this afternoon. We go to Mattison's Steak House for dinner. It is located just behind Publix in the old Plaza Restaurant. Bob and Sue join us for cocktails at 7 in our condo (last event before the move Sunday).

Used our last Sarasota Originals gift certificate today with early dinner at Harry's. Tournedos as good as they get. Wallers arrive tomorrow for 1 day. Then we move to Jim's on Sunday.

John and crew left at 11:30am. Jim moved furniture for 2 hours. Emptied out the family room and dining room. Also carried big TV to his condo (we gave it to him). We gave our old TV from Jim's condo to Junior, our maintenance man. See pictures on old website of empty rooms.

John, Elizabeth, and Robert arrived on Monday night. Emma and Ethan and Alie and Jim arrived on tuesday afternoon at 2:30pm. Shortly after that Maddie and Stephen arrived. Photo contest rules were passed out to each participant. Deadline is Sunday, March 25. Dry Dock was lunch for Robert, Elizabeth, Barry and Phil. Everybody working with computers and cameras.

Lunch at Fran's. Bob and Sue, Ken and Margie, Phil and Barry. See picture on Website. Saw neurosurgeon Dr. Andrew Fine. Very nice. Capable. Looks to be age of Dr. Price, about 50. 95% of lower back pain fixed without surgery. Prescripted physical therapy for 6 weeks at 2x per week. My evaluation scheduled with David Stevenson, PT, for Wednesday, March 14 at 11am. Am relieved. Treatment that Bob W. used is not applicable in this case. Killing the nerve for me would make my left leg numb. Not desired.

Town Hall Series Lecture-Daniel Pink. Jim and Barry attended. Then Jim left for Tampa at 2pm.

Barry got Jim up at 5am. His alarm had failed to wake him. I had set it but it didn't go off. Anyway Barry took Jim to the start of the race which was at the Ringling Museum. 5 pictures are posted to show Jim in his running attire. Also we posted pictures of the pinewood derby in KC on March 3. These were sent to me by Susan Ellis. Jim and Barry looked at about 20 homes in the Bay Isles area. Went to Euphemia Haye with Jim. The Pepper Steak specialty is fabulous. I had never had it cooked medium. Much better than medium rare. I ordered the grouper catch of the day. It was also great.

Crummy day. Didn't go to the market. Jim arrived at 10:00pm for his Sarasota 1/2 marathon on Sunday.

Got Infinity lease details. Lease expires August 4, 2007. Arranged for transportation to and from LaGuardia for April trip. Updated 2004 highlights and 2003 highlights on main website. Took lamp back to Lamplighter for repair and picked up Jim's Marathon packet at 4pm.

To meet Mike Angers of Brown & Brown at 11am. He replaces Kevin O'Keefe. Meeting with Marc Daniels, our contractor at 2pm. Went over everything. Changing master bath medicine cabinet to full length on one side-mirrored. Neurosurgeon's office scheduled me for March 20.

No Plans except dinner at Sign of the Mermaid with Ken and Margie. Great dinner. They are staying for 2 weeks.

Overcast sky. Barry getting a haircut. Plan lunch with Bob and Sue and Ken and Margie. Going to Sam Sneads for baby back ribs. Yummm. Added a photo weblog to see how it works. Also added a Site Map. Finalized contract for cabinets with Marc Bresee and gave him 50% deposit as downpayment.

Last night we watched the Oscars. Well, Barry did and Phil worked on the website.
This is Monday. Phil has an MRI at 10:30am. He has developed lower back pain and Dr Price ordered the MRI so he could diagnose the problem and possibly have a solution. Margie and Ken arrived Sunday and stopped by for a visit.

We were visited by Russ and Jody and their grandson Nathaniel. After a continental breakfast, they joined us at St Boniface for the 11am service. There was a guest trumpeter who had performed for 9 years with the Dallas Symphony. Then we went to Inn on the Beach for a 1pm lunch.
Barry has just visited with Emma on Ichat. She Loved it.
Getting the condo ready for visitors was a morning challenge and Barry prepared a great continental breakfast with fresh fruit--rasberries, strawberries, blueberries, papaya and bananas. With apple bran muffins, english muffins, and danish from Pastry Arts.
